Possible Lipo 6.5 Weight limit change

taken from Mtech CentralBooking System:

"At the 2008 AGM it was agreed that for 2009, an additional modified class spec would be included into the existing 5-cell Modified Class in the form of 2S LiPo with 6.5T Brushless.
The 1/10th Electric Circuit Section committee have received a lot of feedback about the weight limits in the modified class, and would like to put this to the vote before the Nationals start. The current rule = 5-cell NiMh cell cars with a minimum weight limit of 1425g, and 6.5 turn brushless LiPo cars with a minimum weight limit of 1500g. The proposal to be voted on is a common minimum weight limit across the two, dropping the LiPo/6.5 weight to 1425g. This follows the lead set by Mike Smith and the STCC series.
The primary factors for dropping the LiPo minimum weight limit are:
Modified entries are low at around 40 per meeting, and it is hoped this will encourage more to enter this top flight class
Easier scrutineering for all cars across the Modified class

The primary factors for leaving the weight limits as is are:

Limited time to test the reduced weight limit ahead of the first National
Modified competitors may have to invest in LiPo batteries and chargers for the season

The vote will remain open until 23:59 on Wednesday 6th May 2009. The votes will be reviewed and the Committee will annouce if the weight rule will change (or not) before the WLRC National warm up meeting on 10th April.
Please note this proposed change will not alter the minimum weight limit of the Pro Stock class which remains at 1500g for 2009."
