Sidcup Round 5

This was the first night with the 008 after having to get a new 13.5 motor (sensor failed).

I set the car up using a bit of guess work, and tried it out on the track during practice with the new motor.

It was really REALLY good in practice, but I just wanted to calm it down a little so I changed the gear ratio slightly.

During the qualifying runs myself and Jordan were in the same heat and we had our usual close racing, but this week we managed to really push it :) We were lapping around the track no more than 1-2cm from each others cars. We were swapping the lead between us for a good few laps and I could hear a few ooh's and ahhh's coming from the pit area from Charlie and Marlon who were watching our races.

At the end of the qualifiers, I had ended up 7th and despite repeated begging/blackmailing/backhanders etc I couldn't get a 7 car A Final to be allowed. I wanted this as Terry and Charlie were both in the A final and I wanted to race against them.

The three of us were no more than .200 apart in the qualifying list, so it would have been a great final for the three of us :)

In the final, I ended up winning but was shaking like a leaf by the end of it. It felt great :)

All in all, a good showing for the '008 first time out, Roll on the next round !
