Pain in the ...

I've been having chronic back pain for a few months now and it progressed to the point where it was causing me pain in my legs. This is the beginning of Sciatica, so I figured it's about time I went to see an expert about it.

I've now been to three therapists (physio and osteopaths)

The first one was at my local GP and the woman relieved the pain and gave me some exercises to do to carry on.
The second one was an Osteopath that was recommended to me by a friend. I went to see him and he showed me that my spine is tilted and twisted to one side, causing it to compress the Sciatic nerve, causing the pain in my leg.
The third one I found by chance and had already booked it by the time I had gone to see Therapist No. 2. I went to see Therapist No. 1 this evening and he was the most thorough so far, looking at my posture, my golf swing and testing my movements. He is also convinced that it is to do with my posture at work sitting in the chair. He did one test that really worried me though. This was to measure the angle of the curvature of my lower back. He explained that the normal amount of curvature is 35-45 degrees, so 17 either side of the mid point. Mine was 10 above that point and 3 below it, so almost straight ! That's obviously not good, so he's asked me to stop training and playing golf until we work through it. I've been assured that it is reversible, although it will take some time for it to fully heal.
